ABOUT

Millie top was born in Arnhem, The Netherlands, from Dutch and Dutch-Canadian parents, prompting her grandfather to declare to the whole congregation one Sunday morning in church that the most beautiful baby in the whole world had been born.

She picked up the brush while working at a hospital lab, partly because her mother and

father had art running through their veins, partly to get away from the tidy and into the messy. However, the lab technician won and over the years, tidy paintings were delivered while she moved from The Netherlands to Canada and picked up more training at the AGO and Toronto's Central Tech.

Once moving to Grey County, she joined the Studio XX Art Group in Chatsworth. There she learned to loosen up a bit more. She started Peter John Reid’s Masterclasses in 2022  with a new main goal: To embrace the messy and practice what artists call "fast and loose", and to move to larger canvases.

Millie resides just outside Berkeley with four cats, ten chickens, and a husband who wonders where to store all the large (and smaller) artworks.
